AFC Leopards and Kariobangi Sharks played out a goalless draw at Dandora Stadium in a heated FKF Premier League clash on Sunday. Meanwhile, Posta Rangers shocked Shabana FC with a comeback victory, while Mara Sugar produced a dominant second-half performance to hammer Talanta FC 4-1.
Leopards Escape Sharks’ Bite in Dandora
AFC Leopards had a chance to assert their dominance against struggling Kariobangi Sharks, but instead, they labored through 90 minutes to settle for a point. It was a game where Ingwe could have closed the gap on the top teams, yet they found themselves fortunate not to suffer a defeat.
Sharks, who are now winless in eight games, showed hunger early on. A well-worked move between Andreas Odhiambo and Steve Mbulere nearly paid off, but Mbulere hesitated too long before hitting the post. That miss was an early warning sign, but Leopards failed to capitalize on it.
When Leopards ventured forward, their efforts were wasted. Ovella Ochieng’s misdirected passes constantly broke down their attacks, while Musa Oundo’s best attempt was easily saved by Sharks keeper Sebastian Wekesa.
Leopards goalkeeper Levis Opiyo emerged as the hero, making a crucial stop at the half-hour mark to deny Francis Memusi from close range. His save kept the game level heading into halftime.
The second half saw Ingwe lose some attacking flair after Victor Otieno went off injured. Their best chance came in the 65th minute, when Victor Omune forced a brilliant save from Wekesa.
Sharks nearly stole the win late in the game when substitute Ally Salum found himself one-on-one with Opiyo, but he hesitated and failed to shoot, allowing the Leopards defense to clear. Despite late pressure from Leopards, the game ended in a 0-0 stalemate, marking Sharks’ 10th draw of the season.
Posta Rangers Stun Shabana with Impressive Comeback
Over at Kenyatta Stadium, Posta Rangers pulled off an unexpected 2-1 victory against Shabana FC, dealing the visitors their first loss of the year.
Shabana started strong and looked to be in control when Dennis Okoth struck in the 28th minute. However, their lead didn’t last long, as Posta Rangers mounted a strong response.

Shami Kibwana equalized in the 44th minute, just before halftime, setting the stage for a thrilling second half. Posta completed their comeback in the 52nd minute when Curtis Wekesa found the net, securing a much-needed win that lifted them out of the relegation zone.
With this result, Posta Rangers climbed to 15th place with 20 points, while Shabana remained seventh with 28 points.
Mara Sugar Destroys Talanta in a Second-Half Rampage
In Awendo Green Stadium, Mara Sugar made a bold statement in their fight for survival by crushing Talanta FC 4-1.
Talanta had a bright start, taking the lead in the 37th minute, but their advantage quickly faded as Mara Sugar launched a relentless second-half assault.
Substitute Robert Obaga sparked the comeback with an equalizer in the 43rd minute, and three minutes later, Erick Juma gave Mara the lead with a well-taken goal.
Mara continued to dominate and put the game out of Talanta’s reach in the final 10 minutes. Joseph Okwenda struck twice in quick succession, scoring in the 82nd and 89th minutes to seal a commanding victory.
This win propelled Mara Sugar to ninth place on the log, while Talanta, with their league-high 10th loss, dropped to 16th place, tied on points with relegation-threatened Bidco United and Nairobi City Stars.
With these results, the FKF Premier League table continues to tighten, making the upcoming fixtures even more crucial for teams battling at both ends of the standings.
